Skokie SwiFters Run/Walk Club

Skokie Swifters is a running and walking club for everyone from beginners to experienced distance runners. Whether you want to get moving outside, are looking to make some new friends, or need a little motivation while you train for an upcoming race, you'll find a welcome community in the Swifters.

We believeā€¦

  • Running and walking - no matter how fast, how far, or how long - can bring people together in ways that contribute to a healthy body and a healthy mind.

  • Community is at the heart of what we do. Whether it is supporting local businesses, learning about new parts of town, cleaning up our local paths, or providing our fellow residents with food pantry items, we foster connections between our club and the people of Skokie and surrounding communities.

  • One run or walk can change your day. Many runs or walks can change your year. And consistent running and walking can change your life.

We believe if you run or walk, you belong.

Join us each Tuesday at Sketchbook Brewing for our weekly Tuesday Trails--a 30-45 minute walk/run on the Skokie Valley Trail, followed by drinks and conversation at Sketchbook.

Or come explore a rotation of local trails, running spots, and races (not to mention coffee/breakfast spots!) with us on our Saturday Scampers. Check out the Calendar for more info on our events.

Goodbye, 2022. LFG, 2023!

Thanks to everyone who came out to make this year's 3rd Annual End-of-the Dumpster Fire Year 20-ish Miler run extra special!

Sabrina, Felix, Ryan, and Hunter ran all 20 miles of the North Branch Trail, while a whole slew of other Swifters joined up for the last 10 and 4.4 miles. Jake and Nora decided to round out their run at an even half marathon. Even more folks showed up to cheer us on and provide fuel during and after the event!

We love how this tradition has grown. What a great way to end the year! You can check out some pictures of event.
