Skokie SwiFters Run/Walk Club

No Saturday Scamper this weekend. We hope to see you at the Farmer's Market on Sunday the 3rd and at the 4th of July Parade (that we're marching in!) on Monday!

Skokie Swifters is a run/walk club for anyone from beginners to experienced distance runners. Whether you just want to get moving outside, are looking to make some new friends, or are looking for a little motivation while you train for an upcoming race, you'll find a welcome community in the Swifters!

Join us each Tuesday at Sketchbook Brewing for our weekly Tuesday Trails--a 30-45 minute walk/run on the Skokie Valley Trail, followed by drinks and conversation at Sketchbook.

Or come explore a rotation of local trails, running spots, and races (not to mention coffee/breakfast spots!) with us on our Saturday Scampers.

Check the calendar for details on those, and the many other special events we have coming up, like seasonal beer-runs, holiday parties, and other running-related community events.

Stay Swifty!

Backlot Dash Couch To 5k

Always wanted to try a 5k but wasn't sure how to train? Have you taken some time off running and want to get back into it? New to running? The Swifters want to support you!

Registration is open for a Couch to 5k program coached by our very own Captain Swifter, Sabrina Ehmke! You'll find a welcoming community and tips to get you to safely complete this year's Backlot Dash 5k in Skokie!

Both Skokie residents and non-residents are welcomed. Register through the Skokie Parks Department website.

Join your fellow Swifters on Sunday, September 25 for this special club event! We’ll be provided with a tent (!), special shout outs and swag, and a personal discount code for both the half marathon and 5k!

Register here, and use discount code 22CHMSWIFTERS to save $10 on registration fees! Be sure to select “YES A GROUP” and enter the name “SKOKIE SWIFTERS” for those questions on the registration.

You can also grab a FREE shuttle ticket from Millennium Park to Jackson Park - we can coordinate race day driving for those who want!

Would love to see as many Swifters as possible - what a great summer training goal, or last long run for those of us running a fall marathon, and a great 5k for all! And once you've signed up, don't forget to fill out the race log so we'll know you're coming!
