Skokie SwiFters Run/Walk Club

You know the saying... April showers bring... Swifty and fun times?? Well that may not have rhymed, but it is true! We've got a LOT lined up for April, and we hope you'll join us!

To celebrate Earth Month, the Swifters will be participating in a special clean up event at our Tuesday Trails at Sketchbook on Tuesday, April 9 at 6:00pm. Come join us with your enthusiasm, and we'll provide gloves, bags, and safety vests to clean up our beloved Skokie Valley Line path. Thanks to the annual Clean Green Skokie event for giving us an opportunity to help beautify our community!

Shufflin' Swifter Style!

The 2024 Race Season has officially begun. Around thirty Swifters hit the pavement in the Chicago Loop for the 43rd annual Shamrock Shuffle. We had PRs, first 8ks, and everything in between. We also placed 10th out of 50 teams in the Mixed Competitive division. Most of all, we had what we always have: a whole lot of support and even more fun!

Coaching information session

Think having a run coach is only for the elites? Think again! Come May 7th to learn from Captain Swifter/RRCA certified running coach Sabrina how having a run coach can change your running for the better! More info here.

Shenanigans were had!

The third annual Swifter Shenanigans Scamper was a great success! We're grateful for the fabulous weather, our hosts Temperance Beer Co., Sketchbook Skokie, and Hubbard's Cave/Une Année, and to all the Swifters who came out and made it so much fun!

Pettit INdoor Marathon relay

The Swifters sent three teams to Milwaukee this weekend for this year's Pettit Indoor Marathon Relay. In this unique event, each team of four ran a total of ninety-six laps of the indoor track at Pettit National Ice Center. Runners handed off the baton every two laps (880m), each running approx six and a half miles when all was said and done.

It was a brisk and dry 55 degrees in the rink, and it felt even colder! All three teams placed in their respective divisions! Everyone had a blast and we're already looking forward to next year. Check out the full gallery.
